St Austell
One end of the land... and a fair trek to the other lies aheadWritten by Anthony
Money saved: £9.50 (decided to take our own photos at Land's End, having cycled the 10 miles from Penzance).
We started the journey proper by heading off east in the direction we had just come from!
Fortunately, the weather has been amazing (we have sunburn to show for it!) and we’ve been cooled along ourway by a breeze, annoyingly from the east.
Lunchtime was spent in Helston, at a pub with few endearing features, exacerbated by a complete lack of pasties on the menu.
The ride out of Helston towards St Austell brought far too many undulating hills and a lot of traffic.
We arrived at the fantastic Gwyndra Guest House (run by Jackie and Jim) after five and a half hours pedalling, Ant feeling somewhat tired (knackered!), but Steve in good form.

Summary:
Great to be on our way, scenery fantastic, weather great, hills frequent, pasties absent.
